The professional grade steel conical burrs have five different settings from finely ground, to coarse depending on the strength of coffee desired. Because of the slow griding, there is minimal heat produced, which helps to preserve more of the aroma and flavor from the coffee bean. The 6 ounce capacity bean container has a see-through window, and removable cover that allows you to watch as the freshly ground coffee flows smoothly into the reusable gold-toned filter while still allowing for easy cleaning of the grinder. For safety and peace of mind, this coffee maker is designed to automatically shut off after two hours. You are even able to grab a cup even when the pot isn't finished brewing the full 10 cup capacity because of the stop-and-serve technology. The glass carafe allows for easy viewing to see when the brewing process is finished.The LCD digital control panel is illuminated, making it easier to read. Featured on the panel is a programmable timer and clock with five different brew amounts for 2-10 cups. There are three different coffee strength settings, strong, medium, and mild, which when combined with the freshly ground beans allows the maximum flavor to be extracted. The grind and brew setting lets you grind the programmed amount of beans straight into the reusable filter, then it automatically starts the brewing process. The brew setting is for use with pre-ground coffee beans, all you need to do is push the release button for the filter and add your ground coffee. As an added feature this coffee maker uses a charcoal water filter that removes up to 82% of flavor hindering impurities found in common tap water. The filter holder and one charcoal filter is included.
